HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM JIM, PAT AND NICOLE

This time of the year gives us an opportunity a fresh to consider the richness of God’s blessings toward us. In all of the turmoil around us, it is easy to forget that we have a God who knows the beginning from the end and is mercies toward us are new every morning.

As I have been contemplating how to remain thankful in the midst of trying times, several verses have been highlighted to me. Today, I wanted to share them with you.

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

(1.Thess 5:18)

I will be glad and rejoice in your love for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy.

(Psalm 31:7)

Let us rejoice and be glad because he will save us.

(Isaiah 25:9)

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

(Psalm 118:24)

Rejoice in the Lord Always and again I say rejoice.

(Philippians 4:4)

Notice that most of those passages are from the old covenant. Friends, we have a much better covenant. We have even more to be thankful and rejoice.

In asking the Lord how to remain in a state of thanksgiving, he reminded me of the verse where Paul writes, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Now, I was familiar with the verse but felt prompted to read the verses before it. In the Good News Bible, Philippians 4:12 -13 says,

I know what it is to be in need and what it is to have more than enough. I have learned this secret, so that anywhere, at any time, I am content whether I am full or hungry, whether I have too much or to little. I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.

(Philippians 4:12-13)

The Word encourages us to not let our hearts be troubled. So, let’s release the peace of God in thankfulness for his kindness toward us in that while we were yet sinners. That is a reason to be Thankful.

The contentment from knowing He loves us and Is watching over us to accomplish his will in and through us. Let’s take time to be thankful for all he has given us, whether little or much. Let us show the world Where our confidence is and Who it is in. Let’s share with those in need whether in our neighborhood or across the sea. Let’s declare righteousness in love to those around us. Let’s Rejoice with many and weep with those who are weeping.

This season let’s begin to ask the Lord to help us walk in contentment in the face of all the chaos around us. We can be thankful that our lives do not depend on the state of affairs in this world for we are citizens of a different kingdom, and the government of that kingdom rest on HIS shoulders. That should make us all Rejoice with loud singing and shouting and dancing.

I am thankful we have a personal, intimate loving God who is our strength and hope.

Last but not least, WE are thankful for each of you who take the time to read our posts, attend our events, support us in prayer and finance. There is complete healing in the Lord Jesus Christ available today.

Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving Friends!

We love and Pray for you,

Jim and Pat and Nicole
